Higley is a historic community name that now covers a substantial part of the Gilbert and Queen Creek growth corridor, anchored by the Higley Unified School District and the newer development around Williams Field Road. The original Higley townsite dates to the early twentieth century and was largely absorbed as Gilbert and Queen Creek expanded.
